Entertainment icon Jerry Seinfeld’s comedy career took off after his first appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981. Eight years later, he teamed up with fellow comedian Larry David to create what was to become the most successful comedy series in the history of television: Seinfeld. The show ran on NBC for nine seasons, winning numerous Emmy, Golden Globe and People’s Choice awards, and was named the greatest television show of all time in 2009 by TV Guide, and in 2012 was identified as the best sitcom ever in a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll.
Seinfeld has also starred in, written and produced movies (Comedian, Bee Movie), directed and produced a Broadway hit (Colin Quinn Long Story Short), and even wrote a best-selling book (Seinlanguage) and a children’s book (Halloween).
Seinfeld directed the off-Broadway production of Colin Quinn: The New York Story and the upcoming Netflix stand-up special.
Seinfeld’s latest project is the Emmy nominated and critically-acclaimed web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, seen exclusively on Crackle and comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com, which has garnered over 100 million views, and which the New York Times describes as “impressively complex and artful” and Variety calls “a game changer.”
Most recently, Seinfeld has been performing at the Beacon Theatre as part of a year-long residency entitled, “Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand.”
Seinfeld resides in New York City with his wife and three children. He remains active as a standup comedy performer, continuously touring both nationally and internationally.
Rob Lowe was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, and raised in Dayton, Ohio, where he began his acting career in local television and theater at the age of eight. After his family relocated to Los Angeles, Lowe began his national acting career starring in the ABC television series, A New Kind of Family. Today, Lowe’s charismatic talent and palpable success have radiated far beyond the realm of television.
Rob can currently be seen in the CBS medical drama Code Black where he will play Col. Ethan Willis, a doctor in the U.S. military’s prestigious combat casualty care research program. He will be starring with Kirstin Bell in the 2017 movie How to Be a Latin Lover directed by Ken Marino. He most recently was seen in in FOX’s, The Grinder, for which he received a 2016 Best Actor Golden Globe nomination, as well as in Sky 1’s biggest drama debut, You, Me, and the Apocalypse which aired on NBC. In 2016, Lowe also lent his voice to Disney Channel’s The Lion Guard as Simba.
Rob rose to fame with in 1983, with starring roles in movies such as The Outsiders, Oxford Blues, About Last Night, Bad Influence, St. Elmo's Fire, Wayne's World, Tommy Boy, and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
From 1999 – 2003, Lowe starred as Sam Seaborn on hit NBC drama The West Wing. His performance in the show garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series, as well as two Golden Globe nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series. The West Wing cast was nominated three times by the Screen Actors Guild for an Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award, and won twice.
In May 2010, Rob Lowe joined the cast of NBC’s Parks and Recreation, after previously starring in the ABC-TV hit series, Brothers & Sisters from 2007 – 2010. In 2009, Lowe also starred opposite Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, and Tina Fey in Warner Bros’, The Invention of Lying.
Rob released his memoir, Stories I Only Tell my Friends, in 2011. The book was an instant hit, spending consecutive weeks in the top four of The New York Times best sellers and making it onto GQ’s “Best of 2011” book list. Lowe’s second book, Love Life was published in 2014 and also landed a spot on the NY Times Best-Seller list.
Lowe also received critical acclaim and a leading actor nomination from the Screen Actors Guild for his starring role in National Geographic Channel’s, Killing Kennedy, which also garnered an Emmy nomination in November 2013. Lowe received a Golden Globe nomination for his co-starring role in the 15- time Emmy nominated HBO film Behind the Candelabra, playing the role of Dr. Jack Startz. The film was directed by Steven Soderbergh and produced by Jerry Weintraub.
Lowe’s legacy in Hollywood was cemented in 2015 with the unveiling of his Walk of Fame star.
